About

I am an art historian and educator with over 18 years professional experience. My background includes supervising museum-based K-12 and public programs, and directing the Art History Program at the University of North Carolina at Asheville, where I held a faculty appointment in the Art Department and was recognized with an institutional teaching award.

Since relocating to Washington DC in 2009, I have maintained a projects-based career as a writer and educational consultant while continuing to teach part-time in area institutions. This recent work revolves around educational initiatives that involve cross-sector collaboration, digital and arts-based pedagogies, open education resources, faculty development, and student-centered learning.
